WP-FaceThumb is a WordPress plugin that allows your visitors to take pictures with their webcam. These photos will then be visible through the widget provided with the plugin and a photo gallery.
Just a little more detail on the operation of the plugin, here are some explanations of its installation and operation :
During installation of the plugin, a page named « FaceThumb WP-Gallery » will be created. This page contains a shortcode: [WP-FaceThumb Gallery]. This shortcode will allow the plugin to know that this page contains the gallery.
Once you have installed WP-FaceThumb, you must go to the Appearance menu, then Widgets to drag the widget plugin in your sidebar. This will allow the display of the widget so that your visitors can start using it.
Then it’s easy, just click on the « Take a snapshot » in the widget. A small window will open allowing you to give a picture of you on the blog and a link if you wish.
In the administration section you will be able to moderate photos that are left on your blog and you can adjust various parameters of the gallery. Here is a list (almost) complete of functionalities :
Thumbnail management (erase thumbnail)
Ability to manage the behavior of the gallery (number of thumbnails : height and width)
Ability to load the plugin via ajax to not perturb the use of caching plugin like wp-super-cache
User’s link management
Management of the thumbnail in the widget
Ability to use a shortcode to view the gallery in an article or a post
French translation included
And a bunch of other things to discover!
And here is the list of things I have left to do :
Translation of the Flash part
Adding an uninstall feature to clean the database
Separate plugin into multiple files
Translation of a few things not translated in french
Selective loading of CSS
Review the section on deleting files
Add support link for author

Take a better picture of me in the example photo…
